| no picture available | Meet the Palantir Cats ID=327 Description: I started by breeding Siamese - mainly Red, Tortie and Cream Points and a few Tabby Points - closely followed by Orientals. I got my first Oriental Longhair in 1988 and "Bigfoot" the Balinese (he really has got big feet - he trips over them!) arrived in 1995 to help with my Oriental Longhair programme. I am Secretary of the Red Point & Tortie Point Siamese Cat Club and the Oriental Longhair Breed Club (both affiliated to the GCCF). I am also Secretary of the Oriental Joint Breed Advisory Committee. I am show manager of the GCCF Supreme Show and two much smaller shows - the Breed 32 Cat Association Show and the Tabby Point Siamese & Progressive Breeders Cat Club Show. I am on various GCCF Committees and in what is left of my spare time (I work as well!) I enjoy watching the weeds grow in my garden. You can see me at work if you wish! | no picture available | CAMBRIDGESHIRE CAT CLUB ID=334 Description: The Cambridgeshire Cat Club or Cam Cat was formed in 1983 when a group of like-minded individuals decided to get together to form a Cat club like Cat clubs used to be. The founding members (including; Ken & Hilary Clarke, Kate & Barry Gibbins and John Wallet ) met at each others houses and enjoyed the original 'Cam Cat chats'. Each member took turns to hold the meetings and supplied catering.
Membership grew steadily and it was decided that a regular venue should be found. In 1985 the first open meeting of the club was held at the 'Golden Hind' public house. Amongst the attendees were Philip Wilde, Lillian & Les Howard, Sally Tokens and Chris & Susan Luvaglia. It was agreed to work towards GCCF affiliation
Under the chairmanship of Philip Wilde, a stalwart of the club, Cam Cat went from strength to strength. The first Camchat was published in December 1987and the decision was made to run a show. Added on: 25-Mar-2005 hits: 66 Rate this site | Report broken link

| no picture available | Coventry & Leicester Cat Club ID=336 Description: Formed in 1951, and named the Coventry Cat and Kitten Club, its officers, committee and members were not all cat breeders, but they were all cat lovers. 20% of club income was given to a Strays Committee which turned into the Coventry branch of the Cats Protection League.
Affiliation to GCCF was granted on 14th October 1958 and the first Championship Show was held at Westfield House, Coventry in 1961.
We are grateful to the hard work that everyone put into the formation of the club - there was a meeting every Wednesday night to sew aprons, mice, spiders cushion covers, tea cosies etc to sell on the stall.
There are far too many people to name here, but it was their dedication and hard work which has left a legacy which the current officers, committee and members are now responsible for. The Coventry and Leicester Cat Club you see today, is a direct result of hours of hard work put in by all those who have been connected with the club over the years. | no picture available | Lakeland & District Cat Club ID=341 Description: The Lakeland and District Cat Club was Founded in October of 1992, by a group of people interested in the welfare, showing & breeding of pedigree & household pets.
The founders Joy & Ron Forrest guided the club in its early years with the following original club members:-
Sheila Mackereth, Ian & Cath Mckenna, Angel Orvis, Chris Troughton & Linda Troughton.
Sadly Ron passed away in 1997 and is sadly missed by many.
Joy is still a member and still keeps an interest in the activities of the club.
Our first show was a household pet show at Kendal Rugby Club. It was held on the 18th of June 1994 .
The show manager was Mr A Cooksey, and it was a huge success. Many thanks Alan. :)
In 1995 the club hit a brick wall, as affiliation to the GCCF was becoming time consuming, however, after fresh input from a revitalised committee, the club was granted affiliation to the GCCF in 1997.
We were now positioned to go for its goal.
Mr E Irving & Mr M Kavanagh agreed to fund-raise to support loss-running exemption & sanction shows.
In 1998 Mrs P Parrish was asked to be the club's show manager and to guide & train others in this role.
Three exemption shows at Kendal Rugby Club gave the club an excellent rapport with the exhibitors.
In the Year 2000 the club gained sanction show status. We had to move to a bigger place, Carnforth High School. The feed back from the exhibitors was very impressive. Added on: 25-Mar-2005 hits: 88 Rate this site | Report broken link
